Moulding Process

This is one of our cells moulding a four impression insulation sleeve in Ticona S135 LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer).

The cell shows a dehumidifying rotary bed drier at 150°C. The tool is running at 130°C and the material is being processed via a bi-metallic screw & barrel with a melt temperature of 365°C.

The sprue is picked and placed in a granulator for recycling. Immediate granulation whilst the material is still hot ensures dust creation is kept to a minimum.
